Improper hard drive disposal puts your business at risk.

Destruction line, Naas

Methods like erasing, reformatting and wiping may seem sufficient, but they still leave you and your customers exposed. As long as the drives remain physically intact, sensitive data can be recovered.

Under GDPR your organisation remains the data controller for every device it retires. If a drive leaves your building with recoverable data on it, the liability does not leave with it. Safeguard your information with a method that is evidenced in writing.

Effective hard drive destruction.

After shredding

Our destruction process is designed so hard drives are completely destroyed, eliminating any possibility of data retrieval or reconstruction. Only thorough physical destruction guarantees that your digital information is permanently erased.

Industrial-grade equipment shreds entire drives into fragments, dismantling the platters, internal mechanisms and electronic components together, so nothing can be reassembled.

Drives with no data-bearing risk can instead be certified-erased and returned to service through our refurbishment process, recovering value under value return.

Common questions

What Irish businesses ask us first.

Is wiping a hard drive enough, or does it need shredding?

Certified erasure is sufficient for most commercial data when it is performed with forensic-grade software and evidenced in writing. Where drives held highly sensitive data, or your own policy requires it, physical shredding is the only method that removes any possibility of recovery.

What proof do I get that the data was destroyed?

A Certificate of Destruction is issued after every service, identifying the devices processed. It is the document you file against your GDPR obligations.

Can the drives be destroyed at our premises?

Yes. On site destruction is available where your policy requires media to be destroyed before it leaves the building. Otherwise drives travel under the chain of custody described above to our facility in Naas.

What happens to the shredded material?

It goes to licensed recycling partners under Ireland's WEEE Regulations, never to landfill. See IT sustainability for how that is reported back to you.

Can we recover value from drives that do not need shredding?

Often, yes. Drives and devices with remaining commercial life can be certified-erased and refurbished instead, with the residual value returned to you. See value return.

How much does destruction cost?

It depends on volumes, media types, whether you need on site destruction, and how often you need collection. See business services pricing, or send us rough numbers.

Tell us what needs destroying.

Send rough volumes and media types. One of the business development team comes back with a price and a collection window, usually the same working day.
